Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Virtual Assistant?

A Virtual Assistant is a self-employed professional that helps business owners by providing administrative, marketing, creative and tech support.

The purpose of a VA is to help make or save clients money, and to free them up so they can do what they do best – or simply to give business owners more free time.

What do I do if I want a Virtual Assistant help with my business?

Schedule a discovery call so we can discuss your needs. We can have an informal discussion about what you need support with and whether we will be a good fit. Then we can start getting into the nuts and bolts of what, when and how.

What are the benefits of using a Virtual Assistant?

Virtual Assistants can save you both time and money. As a business owner, you should focus on growing your business, not worrying about day to day administrative tasks. Virtual Assistants can take care of paperwork, organize your inbox, create and update your website, make travel arrangements, proofread your blog, help with marketing, manage your schedule and more.

You receive instant support from a highly-skilled individual, but only when you need the services. Using a virtual assistant cuts down on your overhead and costs related to employee benefits, taxes and insurance. You pay only for the time a Virtual Assistant spends working on your project or tasks.

Is there a minimum commitment or contract?

Hourly packages are on a pay-per-use basis with no minimum time commitments.

Monthly retainer packages are month-to-month and can be cancelled as laid out in the contract.

A contract must be signed for all monthly retainer packages.

How do I pay for Virtual Assistant Services?

Most virtual assistants are setup to accept PayPal, credit cards and other forms of direct payments.

Will you maintain my website for me?

Yes! I provide monthly maintenance and support packages.

Will my website be mobile friendly?

Yes, have a mobile-friendly (also known as “Responsive”), is more important than ever. I will make sure your website will display beautifully on all devices.

Who writes the content?

The client is the expert on their business, so it is usually best if it comes from the client. If it is required for me to write copy, additional charges will apply.

Who buys the domain?

Clients are responsible for purchasing the domain. However, I will walk you through the process in purchasing your domain.

What is the cost of a new website?

Website costs vary depending on the size and complexity of the site. Website development quotes are based on the unique needs of each project.

I design and develop custom websites tailored for your business or organization. I will ask you questions regarding your website needs and requirements. Once your needs and requirements have been assessed, a quote for a new website will be provided.

What if I need help on my website later on?

I am here to help you as much as I can. I will not disappear once your website has launched. Feel free to get in touch at any time for help!

What are my payment options?

I understand that a website is a big investment. I require a 50% down payment on new websites. The remaining 50% is due prior to launching your website and transferring it to you.

If you need other payment options, please contact me to discuss further.

NOTE: Final payment MUST be received before your website can be launched or transferred to you.

What about hosting?

Hosting is super important! When it comes to hosting, you get what you pay for.

I offer managed hosting as part of my Website Maintenance and Support Packages. If you prefer to have your website hosted elsewhere, I can recommend some great options to meet your budget.

How much input does a client have in the process?

Client input and feedback is most important in this process. I ask a lot of questions about clients needs, likes and wants. I work with clients to develop the right appearance, design and functionality.

How many revisions is allowed?

Two revisions for each project are allowed. I will need a comprehensive list of changes and edits each time to make the process as smooth as possible. After two revisions, any additional changes or updates will be billed at the standard hourly rate.

How long will it take for my website to be ready?

It usually takes 4-6 weeks before a website is completed and ready for launch. However, website completion is dependent on several factors.

  1. How much information and input the client provides during the beginning stages.
  2. Client feedback.
  3. Content provided by client.
  4. Complexity of the website. The more complex the site, the longer it will take to develop and build out.

Is your content ready and you need a basic site with a quick turnaround? Send me a message, and I will see what I can do to work within your required time frame without sacrificing quality.

How can I get help?

Send me an email. This helps ensure I can track all website requests and provide the best service to my clients.

Do you only create WordPress websites?

WordPress powers 35% of the internet. It is a great CMS (content management system). It is incredibly flexible and relatively easy to use. Don’t worry, I’ll teach you how to manage it.

If you prefer to use another platform, I will do our best to work with you as long as you understand the limitations other platforms have.

Can you revise my current site or finish incomplete site?

Yes, however in some circumstances it is easier (and cheaper) to use the content from an existing site and rebuild than reworking or completing an existing site. These options would be discussed during the initial discovery stage.

Can you guarantee my website will not be hacked?

I cannot guarantee you site will not be hacked. However, the processes I put in place make being hacked much less likely. If you combine good practices, strong passwords and good security configurations, you can feel confident knowing your site is secure.

Can I update my site when it is finished?

Yes! I will provide you with a training session so you will know how to edit or update your website. If you require more detailed training, that can be arranged for an additional cost.
